Tip1: Go early or late: Visiting popular spots like Puka Beach in the early morning or late afternoon can provide a more peaceful experience.
Phase 1: Boracay (The “Luxury & Foodie” Start)
- Dates: Feb 19 – 21 (3 Nights)
- The Vibe: World-class powdery sand, amazing coffee, and sunset sailing.
- Where to Stay (Crucial for Quiet): Stay in Station 3 (quiet, tree-lined, relaxed) or Station 1 (luxury, wide beach). Avoid Station 2 (noisy malls).
- Hotel Rec: Surfside Boracay (Station 3 – beachfront/quiet) or The Lind (Station 1 – luxury).
- Vegetarian & Coffee Spots:
- Nonie’s: The best healthy/vegetarian food on the island (Tempeh Kare-Kare is a must).
- The Sunny Side Cafe: Famous for pancakes and specialty coffee.
- Cafe Maruja: A beachfront cafe in Station 3 with smoothie bowls and a chill vibe.
- Day Trip Idea: Carabao Island. A 1-hour boat ride to a neighboring island that looks like Boracay 20 years ago (no people).
Phase 2: Moalboal, Cebu (The “Sardine” Base)
- Dates: Feb 22 – 26 (4 Nights)
- The Move: Fly Caticlan (Boracay) → Cebu. Private car to Moalboal (3 hours).
- Where to Stay: Panagsama Beach. You must stay here to be walkable to the sardine run and restaurants.
- Vegetarian & Coffee Spots:
- Shaka: Famous fruit bowls and coffee overlooking the ocean.
- Ven’z Kitchen: Affordable local Filipino food with a huge vegan menu.
- Smooth Cafe: Great coffee and veggie burgers.
- Day Trip Idea: Kawasan Falls Canyoneering (or just swimming). Hire a tricycle driver to take you there early (7:00 AM) to beat the crowds.
Phase 3: Siquijor (The “Chill & Turtle” Base)
- Dates: Feb 26 – 1 (4 Nights)
- The Move: Bus/Van from Moalboal to Liloan Port → Ferry to Sibulan → Trike to Dumaguete Port → Ferry to Siquijor. (Sounds long, but it’s a scenic coastal journey).
- Where to Stay: San Juan. This is the sunset strip with all the restaurants.
- Vegetarian & Coffee Spots:
- Luca Loko: Best coffee view on the island.
- Baha Ba’r: Great atmosphere, live acoustic music, and vegetarian tapas.
- Twenty4: A bakery/cafe with mountain views.
- Day Trip Idea: Apo Island. You don’t need to stay in Dauin to see the turtles! Coco Grove Resort in Siquijor runs a direct “hassle-free” boat tour to Apo Island. It’s a perfect day trip.
